The Bus Route SL5 is a Transport for London contracted bus route running between Bromley North and Croydon Town Centre, it is operated by Arriva London.
History
On 21 July 2023, a consultation for the route was published by TfL. The consultation was closed on 4 September 2023.
Route SL5 commenced operation on 3 February 2024, running between Bromley North and Croydon Town Centre via Bromley South – Bethlem Royal Hospital – Shirley. The route is operated by Arriva London from their Croydon (TC) garage using existing Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Darts. This route is the seventh official Superloop route.
On 12 April 2025, the route was retained by Arriva London.
On 29 July 2025, the route was converted partially to double deck operation with brand new BYD BD11s introduced alongside the existing Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Darts.
On 2 August 2025, the route was converted to a full double deck operation.
